Rupert was found in North St. Louis during the time Randy would drive all over different areas searching for lost and abandoned dogs who needed help. He was found lying in a ditch and it is suspected he was hit by a car. His spine is damaged so there is no hope for him to recover and walk again as his back legs are paralyzed. He does have wheels and loves to run with the other dogs. He also loves wagon rides and soaking up the sun by the ranch pond. Rupert was in the house the night of the fire at the Katy Farve Assisted Living/Hospice house located on the ranch.
Rupert was diagnosed with Degenerative Myelopathy in April of 2020. Unfortunately, Rupert was in the final stages of it. In his last days Rupert traveled around different sites in St. Louis, enjoyed a steak dinner and ate cake. Rupert was known as "The King of the Ranch". He melted anyone's heart that met him. On May 18, 2020 Rupert crossed over the rainbow bridge. Everyone at the ranch has broken hearts. Rupert was loved by all and will be missed greatly.
No more wheels for you pup!! Run free with all those from the ranch that went before you!! We all love you!!
