Meet Comet

Comet arrived as a tiny puppy carrying challenges no baby should ever have to face.

He was born with a severe spinal deformity that has left him paralyzed in his lower body. His little front body works hard to carry him forward, but he will eventually need custom front-end wheels to give him true mobility and freedom. Comet may also be visually impaired — his eyes drift in different directions, another reminder that his start in life was anything but fair.

And yet… Comet is here.

Alive. Fighting. Trusting.

He’s already had two veterinary appointments scheduled — including an evaluation for physical therapy — because this is our chance to do right by him. To raise him well, with dignity, comfort, enrichment, and joy. He’ll be nourished with high-quality food, ongoing medical care, and the specialized equipment his body needs to thrive.

The truth is, Comet will likely be with us for life. And that’s okay.

Some animals aren’t meant to have the easiest paths — they’re meant to have the most love.

Comet didn’t ask to be born this way. But he showed up anyway. And we said yes.
