Randy’s Rescue Ranch

A place of healing for both animals and people.

Not far from St. Louis, in O’Fallon, IL, you will find Randy’s Rescue Ranch, a 501c3 non-profit organization. Upon your arrival at the ranch you are immediately transported to another place and another time. The ranch, or farm, sits on 20 acres and as you pull in you are greeted by the animals who call the farm home. Each animal, from the horses to donkeys, cattle to pigs, senior to differently-abled dogs, and many others are waiting to share their stories with you. These animals survived some of the worst abuse, neglect and abandonment cases, yet here they are welcoming you to their sanctuary here at the ranch.

Founded in 2017 by Randy Grim, the ranch was established as a horse rescue and an assisted living and hospice home for dogs. But as with most ventures, plans changed as other suffering animals made their way to the ranch. Upon arrival, the animals are vetted and then cared for by a small staff and volunteers, who not only focus on the physical problems the animals may have, but also their mental wellness. Often these animals arrive traumatized and fearful, but with proper health care, enrichment, quality food and water, lots of love and patience, they return to good health and then find their forever homes through an adoption process.

It is not only the animals who benefit from the ranch. Ask any of the staff or volunteers and they will tell you they get more out of the farm than the animals. The love flows freely and is unconditional among both people and animals. Specialized programs have been established to connect special needs and autistic children and adults with the rescued animals. These programs have successfully integrated life skills training along with socialization development and inclusion leading to a win-win situation for all. Soon, there will also be a program to connect veterans suffering with PTSD with the ranch and its animals.

The ranch will open to the general public in 2023 on Saturdays from 10am-3pm. We invite you to visit the Welcome Center, and take a tour to meet (and treat) these amazing animals, and enjoy this amazing property. You may only come to visit, but you will leave taking a piece of the farm with you, locked forever in your heart.
