Randy's Rescue Ranch
Randy's Rescue Ranch: Our newest life-saving project
A place of healing for both animals and people using progressive programs. Not far from St. Louis, in O’Fallon, IL, you will find Randy’s Rescue Ranch, a 501c3 non-profit organization. Exiting the highway you are part of suburbia but within moments you arrive at your destination and immediately feel you have been transported to another place, another time. The ranch, or farm, sits on 20 acres and as you pull in you are greeted by the animals who call the farm home. Each animal, from the horses to donkeys, cattle to pigs, senior to differently-abled dogs, and many others are waiting to share their stories with you. These animals were rescued from some of the worst abuse, neglect and abandonment cases, yet here they are welcoming you to their home.
Founded in 2017 by Randy Grim, the farm was established as a horse rescue and an assisted living and hospice home for dogs from Stray Rescue of St. Louis. But as with most ventures, plans changed as other suffering animals made their way to the farm. Upon arrival, the animals are vetted and then cared for by a small staff and volunteers who not only focus on the physical problems the animals may have, but also the mental health. Often they arrive traumatized and fearful, but with proper care, quality food and water, lots of love and patience, they return to good health and then find their forever homes through an adoption process. It is not only the animals who benefit from the farm, ask any of the staff or volunteers and they will tell you they get more out of the farm than the animals. The love flows freely and is unconditional among both people and animals. Specialized programs have been established to connect special needs and autistic children and adults with the rescued animals. These programs have successfully integrated life skills training along with socialization development and inclusion leading to a win-win situation for all. Soon, there will also be a program to connect veterans suffering with PTSD with the farm and its animals.
The farm is open to the general public on Saturdays and Sundays from 10am-3pm where you can visit the Welcome Center and take a tour to meet and treat these amazing animals. You may only come to visit, but you will leave taking a piece of the farm with you, locked forever in your heart. RRR Ranch Welcome Center 1400 E.
